The Senior Operator is responsible for coordinating the daily operations and long term projects for all the facilities to ensure proper and optimum operation of all associated equipment and systems. Accountable for the safety of employees, contractors, Noble resources and the environment in their area.
Coordinates the monitoring, operation, and maintenance of a facility including natural gas compressors, amine regeneration, natural gas dehydration (glycol) system, metering, tanks, and separators.
Optimizes plant capacity in safe and efficient ways.
Assists in development of SAFE Matrix for plant alarms and responses.
Primary on site person for coordinating PSM effort.
Assists in development of emergency response plans and drills for facilities.

Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and directs necessary repairs, modifications and calibrations of equipment used in production operations of entire gas gathering system.
Shares technical expertise by serving as a mentor to other facility personnel.
Prepares necessary paperwork including procedures, maintenance reports, safety reports, leak reports, equipment reports, etc. and distribute to supervisor and organization.
Performs PLC programming and troubleshooting if qualified.
Maintains safety procedures regarding facilities.
Troubleshoots equipment and facility problems. Perform minor repairs and servicing and notify Facility Foreman if necessary.
Reports volumes and key facility operating parameters to Supervision.
Responds to plant alarm call-outs on off shift hours.
Reviews all invoices associated with facility and submits to supervisor for approval.
Provides direction and technical advice to company and contract personnel on daily operations activities and maintenance activities.
Performs plant start-up and shut-down operations.
Performs gas tests as needed.
Monitors facility for major problems and shuts down if necessary.
Coordinates operations with gas and liquid purchasers.
Participates with all Contract, third party, and Noble personnel to promote safety.
Performs compressor and other mechanical repairs as needed.
Supervises and train roustabouts and relief personnel as required.
May serve as company representative during regulatory agency inspections.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
2-Year Associates degree in Process Technology preferred
Typically requires eight years of experience in oil and gas operations and five years of experience working with and in natural gas processing plants
Department of Transportation operator training a plus.
Some local travel to visit compressor stations, meters and lines is required.
Ability to work significant amount of hours over 40 as needed to complete job responsibilities.
Ability to work weekends and/or on-call shifts as supervisor requires.
Exposure to and driving in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, sun, rain, hail, sleet, high winds, etc. to inspect and repair equipment.
Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required. Also includes working with moving machinery/equipment parts for which extreme caution must be taken.
Must comply with pre-employment and random drug testing policies
Regular bending, climbing (to heights up to two stories or more), lifting (up to 25 pounds without assistance and approximately 100 pounds with assistance) crouching, pulling, kneeling, and reeling to check equipment and gauges and perform repairs.
Ability to traverse uneven terrain and climb metal stairs under all weather conditions using appropriate safety measures.
