Installs, customizes, maintains and troubleshoots new and enhanced IT infrastructure systems, software and / or hardware in support of business operations. Provides technical expertise for system operations. optimization, migrations and consolidations. Provides support to address the availability and reliability of IT infrastructure systems within the organization. Operational responsibilities include remediation of system issues, system compliance responsibilities, system run enhancement testing and staging, policy / procedure enhancements and adherence, customer contact coordination and strategy recommendations.
Works under the general direction of management and more senior level systems administrators in coordination with systems infrastructure team.
Maintains/optimizes/troubleshoots VMware 6.5+ environment supporting Test, Dev, Production and Disaster Recovery (VMware SRM) environments.
Supports various project deployments using physical servers hardware often integrated with VMware for remote deployments
Performs system, software and / or hardware maintenance. Dell, cisco UCS firmware and VMware (VUM)
Maintains and improves monitoring (VROPs), configuration thresholds, and licensing tracking and administration.
Working hands on upgrading/replacing physical servers for deployments onshore/offshore
Hands on work with Dell/hp/UCS servers will be routine.
Hands on work with storage and backup systems and software will be required.
Provides system evaluation and operational reports.
Maintains required compliance reports and scheduled delivery.
Complies with all standard internal controls and processes.
Delivers results in support of achieving the organization’s Service Level Agreements.
Supports the implements modifications to the environment, including troubleshooting and replacement of faulty system hardware/software.
Provides vendor interface for system support issues and escalations. Maintain vendor ticketing continuity for system remediation with vendors.
Creates and maintains documentation and procedures for gathering server requirements from business units and application vendors.
Works with internal and external technical and non-technical customers to resolve implementation issues.(ServiceNow)
2+ Years of hands-on VMware 6.X experience w/ 50% of work hours in this field
VMware Certified Professional 6.x (certification required)
Hands on hardware experience (Dell preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or Business
Typically requires 2 years of related experience
OR High School Diploma + 5 years of related experience
Spends time physically, sitting, walking, lifting and performing routine installation and maintenance of equipment along with inspections.
Maximum amount of pounds required to lift on an occasional basis - 60 lbs
