Noble Energy, Inc. Sr. Enterprise Systems Analyst in Houston, Texas

Responsible for application software support, enhancement and development, in support of the enterprise functions. Works closely with other IT functional groups to analyze business needs, participates in software selection, makes recommendation in implementation and development to meet business current and long term goals. Primarily focused on Production Volumes system architecture and maintenance.

Detailed Description

  • Plays key implementation role on application implementation projects relating to the Operations function as required.

  • Monitors and provides direction regarding the activities of external service providers.

  • Understanding of business processes which are supported by these systems.

  • Involved in the transition to the new processes where applicable.

  • Keeps management and stakeholders informed of project progress, budget and resource status and other key project metrics on a regular basis.

  • Works collaboratively with other members of the IT team to provide technical application support for the portfolio of Operations applications.

  • Liaises with software suppliers and other third parties as required to provide timely and cost-effective customer support.

  • Takes ownership of support issues, utilizing other internal/external expertise as required.

  • Ensures all tasks are managed to a successful conclusion and communicated to the customer.

  • Evaluates and works to implement improvements to existing applications collaboratively with the business.

  • Builds and maintains close and effective working relationships with the Operations organizations.

  • Awareness of the Global Enterprise Application Portfolio principles and technical standards to ensure compliance.

  • Encourages consistent processes and technologies across the business.

  • Possesses awareness of industry best practices along with the ability to suggest innovation where possible.

  • Establishes and sustains close working relationships with client project sponsors and subject matter experts as well as IT technical, development and support area to define and implement services and support.

  • Establishes project plans with clients and IT resources, tracks and reports status, proactively manages overall project expectations.

  • Other responsibilities as requested by management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or Business.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years relevant experience with an emphasis on Oil & Gas application software and related technologies.

  • Prior extensive knowledge of Merrick System is a must.

  • Prefer prior application knowledge of Flow-Cal, and P2 Enterprise Upstream (Production, Regulatory, Revenue, and Base).

  • Ability to work independently and/or lead on projects.

  • Knowledge and experience of upstream Exploration & Production operations and related business processes Demonstrable experience of leading industry software products within this functional area. For example: OSI PI, SCADA, Wonderware, Cygnet, etc.

  • Experience in some or all of the following technologies: Web Based Application Support Oracle RDBMS; Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Python, PI SQL Commander, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). License management using industry standard technologies.

  • Knowledge of underlying Windows server and communications infrastructures as they relate to application delivery in a globally distributed computing environment.

  • Prior experience with software implementation projects. Strong project management skills.
