Manages a project team in the areas of cost control, document control, schedule management, risk management, management of change and coordination with the Contracts and Procurement Departments.
Supervises the project controls group and leads to ensure that the project is following the process and procedures for project management best practices.
Supervises the cost control team which is responsible for tracking and controlling budgets, commitments, accruals, expenditures and contingency drawdown during the duration of the project.
Supervises the logistics and document controls group.
Supervises the scheduling team in the development and use of the integrated project schedule.
Supervises the information management activities on the project including document control, final documentation and contractor coordination
Supervises the daily work of contractors and approves the output of the project services team prior to the approvals of the project management team.
Manages the preparation of the project weekly and monthly reports utilizing data generated from the project team.
Ensures contractors have implemented effective cost, schedule and document controls.
Identifies project cost exposures and overrun risks in a timely manner to allow informed mitigation decisions and actions.
Monitors and analyzes contractor project schedules and detailed engineering task schedules. Advises the project manager of deviations and potential problems and recommends corrective actions.
Verifies performance metrics are in line with the project requirements, such as deliverables and milestones.
Develops and administers the processes and procedures to be utilized by the project services team in accordance with the Asset Services guidelines.
Participates in the compilation, review and issuance of Requests for Proposals for project equipment & services
Responsible for the coordination of the overall risk control management.
Participates in the analysis and review of contractor submitted proposals, including schedule and cost clarifications.
Supervises the project contract change management process throughout the execution phase of the project.
Develops and oversees project s-curves that compare planned versus actual progress and expenditures
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Typically requires 5 years relevant experience in upstream and/or downstream oil and gas development projects
Thorough understanding of and experience in successfully championing the utilization of various computer based project management tools such as Ecosys, Filenet, Primavera and Microsoft Project.
Extensive of experience in successfully coordinating the efforts of project services professionals in diverse areas of responsibility to produce cohesive and complementary results.
